A modern building that hides a Medieval structure
Along the Strada Volterrana that goes from Castelfiorentino to Gambassi, not far from the sources of salsa water, whose healing virtues have been known since ancient times, the church of San Martino appears to be modern, but its structure could at least partly hide a Medieval framework.
Historical sources name it for the first time in 1275, but it is certain that the place where it stands was already documented in the 12th Century.
