festival to celebrate the extraordinary nature of everyday life, to rediscover oneself in community through storytelling and listening.
Towards the festival – scheduled for September 11th and 13th – The Gambassi Experience invites you to discover our territory at its best. Let’s start from There Are Always Words.

Andare a veglia – the summer vigils in the courtyard of farmhouses and manor houses where families, neighbors and friends would gather to talk and share stories – here in the Tuscan countryside was a way to spend evenings in the cool. Ci sono sempre parole retraces this tradition (still alive today in our small villages) and entrust to ordinary citizens, the telling of their daily epics, stories that are common but that together translate the complexity of the present.
On September 12th, in Gambassi Terme, at Santa Maria a Chianni Church, Antonello Grieco will perform Di Francigena e Santa Maria a Chianni.
Parole e Musica (Words and Music)
September 13th 2020, 7.00 p.m.

Bobo Rondelli, singer-songwriter from Livorno, one of the last true poets of Italian music, brings on stage a show that combines words and music. The words of his latest book Cos’hai da guardare and the songs of his repertoire.
DISCOVER OUR TERRITORY!
WHERE TO SLEEP A GAMBASSI TERME
In September, for those who would like to spend a few days in the neighborhood, here are our best HOST with availability of rooms and apartments: Tenuta Sant’Ilario, Villa la Fonte, Agriturismo Renai e Monte, Tenuta Il Quadrifoglio, La Grotta dell’Eremita, Casa Vacanze Soleado, Agriturismo Poggio ai Grilli, Pompone e Pola Farmstay, Casa Benestare.
For those who would like to know more about this area of Valdelsa, here are our proposals.
WINE TASTINGS, OLD CELLARS AND YOUNG WINE MAKERS
For wine lovers, September smells of ripe grapes, an intense, acidulous and sweetish scent. October already has the smell of must, the wineries are working at full speed, will it be a good vintage or not? The work of the winemakers is a work of patience… it will take months before we understand how it went… but if you would like to meet them and get to know the wineries in their best period, we are proud of our producers, Pietralta, Emanuela Tamburini, Azienda Corbucci and Villa Pillo.
AND IF YOU’RE THINKING OF A NICE SUNDAY SUPPER IN AGRITURISMO
If you are among friends or family and you are looking for a place like home, where you can meet and sit together, Renai e Monte’s kitchen is led by an agrichef (a cook-farmer who uses products she or he grows or breeds or produces in the same farm). Whether you are their guests or not, you can book and enjoy the seasonal delicacies prepared by Signora Loriana. Traditional cuisine, local and organic products, oil from the olive grove behind the house, vegetables from the nearby vegetable garden, a beautiful Chianti wine and the best local recipes.
Franca and Stefan open their farmhouse Pietralta, the perfect retreat to decompress and reconnect to the rhythms of nature. Ms Arcangela in the kitchen will pamper you with seasonal and surprising dishes (she is a master of wild herbs and mushrooms harvesting).
If you prefer “lighter” choices, we recommend a visit to the Agriturismo La Grotta dell’Eremita for a tasting of their cold cuts and salami, or to Fattoria Le Caprine to discover one of the best goat cheeses in Tuscany (you’ll be amused!)
SEPTEMBER OUTDOOR
If you prefer movement to food, the Via Francigena offers enchanting views and daily walks – even on horseback – towards Coiano and San Gimignano. We recommend an excursion to the Grotte di Maurizio, an enchanted place that hides in the bush along the Casciani stream. We highly recommend you to visit the site with one of our Toscana Hiking Esperience guides, to keep the excursion safe and show respect and attention that this place requires!
