FROM VINCI TO CERTALDO, THE ART OILGRIM’S PASSPORT MAKE YOUR TRIP EASIER
As we have already written few times, Gambassi Terme is at the heart of an extraordinary and still little known territory. It is the ideal destination for those who want to have art and culture at their fingertips, without giving up the relax of a holiday in the countryside [take a look at the MAP if you haven’t done it yet].
For once, let’s not think of the biggest art cities – which you can easily reach by car or train by the way – and let’s focus on our neighbors: we’d love you to discover all those villages in the Valdelsa area that hold treasures, glimpses of real Tuscany, stories from our past, masterpieces of inestimable value, protected landscapes and 20 museums. We’re talking about a widespread heritage that goes from Empoli to Cerreto Guidi, from Certaldo to Vinci, passing from Gambassi Terme …
Just think of the Museo della Collegiata in Empoli, where Bill Viola is paired with Masolino; just think of the Museo della Ceramica in Montelupo or the Museo Leonardiano and its collection of machines and models that keep track of the studies of Leonardo da Vinci and his extraordinary insights. Further south is the BeGo, the museum dedicated to Benozzo Gozzoli and the two tabernacles he frescoed in the Castelfiorentino countryside, but also Palazzo Pretorio in Certaldo and the Gambassi Terme Glass Museum itself.
15 EURO TO HAVE ACCESS TO 20 MUSEUMS FOR 1 YEAR
Visits can be made by purchasing single tickets for each museum or with the purchase of The Art Pilgrim’s Passport. This is a unique ticket – inspired by The Via Francigena Credential Certificate – that gives access to each of the 20 museums for a year.
It costs just 15 euros and is also available in a ‘family’ version, which costs 35 euros for 2 adults and up to 3 children/young persons (under 18 years old).
